Dyslexia Therapy
We utilize Orton-Gillingham-based programs, including Alphabetic Phonics, Multi-Sensory Teaching Approach (MTA), Reading Readiness (Neuhaus), Metacognition (Neuhaus), Take Flight (Scottish-Rite), Jet (Scottish-Rite), and Build (Scottish-Rite) to guide our instruction. Lessons are individualized and progress at the pace of each student’s needs.
During sessions, students work on phonological awareness, reading, spelling, verbal and written expression, grammar, reading fluency, and reading comprehension. Students learn to identify and distinguish the sounds of the English language through a multisensory approach while systematically developing an understanding of the rules of decoding and encoding.
Academic Language Therapy is best suited for students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. We recommend that students participate in therapy four times per week for 45 minutes per session.
