Our Story

Born in Tacoma, Washington, our founder, Claire struggled in school due to her dyslexia. In college, she interned at the same educational therapy institute where she was a student. When working at an educational summer camp in 2011, she was working with a struggling student who later inspired her to become an academic therapist. After that inspirational summer in 2011, it became Claire’s mission to help other students not only overcome the challenges associated with learning disabilities but also connect with them on a more personal level. Claire finished her undergraduate degree at the University of Puget Sound and immediately started her path to work in academic therapy at Southern Methodist University.

To gain more experience, Claire began her career teaching in Dallas public and private schools while maintaining small set of private clients. Upon moving to Houston in 2021, she launched Achievement Zone, LLC, and began working full-time as a private therapist. 2023 brought many changes; Claire saw additional needs in advocating for special education students and welcomed her son. During this time, she hired Grace to help her with her maternity leave; however, it became apparent that the two should become formal business partners. Today, Claire and Grace are serving more students and hope to continue to expand.
